“Il Cucciolo” is located a mile or so from the small village of Petrelle, under the direct governing of Città Di Castello, which is under the authority of Perugia, the capital city of Umbria. Our exact mailing address is 31 San Zeno A Poggio, Petrelle, Citta Di Castello, (PG) Italy 06010. To locate our place you may want to try Multimap, searching for Petrelle, Città di Castello. Don’t necessarily trust a navigator but make sure you print out the following directions because many navigators don’t find our town or they indicate a maybe more direct road but not necessarily shorter.

Our closest Airport is the Perugia Sant’Egidio Airport where you can flight direct from the UK with Ryanair. From there you would have to rent a car and drive in the direction of CESENA on the E-45 Highway Perugia-Cesena. Exit at Promano which is just after Umbertide and Montone and follow the signs to Trestina. When you arrive at the turn-about, go left (three quarters of the way around).

When you arrive at Trestina there is a fork. Stay to the right and follow the signs for Morra and Bivio Lugnano (for about 3,5 kilometers or 1,5 miles). When you pass a gas station with a red and yellow sign (on your right) turn left in the direction of Lugnano and Petrelle ( you just passed through Bivio Lugnano and you will no longer be going towards Morra). Keep following the road until you pass through Petrelle and arrive at the high walled cemetery of San Zeno (from the IP gas station you’ll have driven for about 7 kilometers (3,5 miles). Immediately after the cemetery you will turn left onto a rough looking white top/gravel road. Follow the road for a kilometer and a half (just over half a mile), pass the first iron gate on the right and with the second iron gate on the right you will be at “Il Cucciolo”.

If you are flying to the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport in Rome (Fiumincino) you can rent a car there and take the A1 autostrada (A highway also called Roma-Firenze) (Rome – Florence) and exit at Orte. There is a toll booth at the beginning of this highway where you will take a ticket (no money required at this point) that you will need to use when you exit the highway at Orte (3.20 euros).

Next, you will take the E45 highway Perugia-Cesena and exit at Promano which is just after Umbertide. Follow the signs for Trestina and when you arrive at the turn-about, go left (three quarters of the way around).

Transportation: Your independence is crucial to you on a vacation in the country side of Italy . You will be driving to all the places of interest. But you may prefer to be picked up at the airport by a chauffeured van rather than renting a car at the airport and driving to us. This service costs approximately 100 euros each way from Rome ‘s airport, and approximately 75 euros each way from Bologna.

Train: For Information on the train schedule to get to our closest train station we suggest you consult the website Trenitalia and look for connections to  PERUGIA PONTE SAN GIOVANNI which is at about 50 km from the Holiday Farm. From there there is a private railroad called FCU (FERROVIA CENTRALE UMBRA) and you can switch to a train for Trestina which is the small twon closest to the Holiday Farm (the line is the one from Perugia to San Sepolcro).
